ABOUT ME
Hi! I’m Silent Rocco, a professional and passionate performing artist always on the search to further develop my own distinctive mime style while constantly trying to push physical and emotional boundaries.
Born in 1981, I have been dedicated to the silent art of modern mime since my early childhood. Influenced by videos and TV appearances of famous mimes Marcel Marceau, Etienne Decroux and visual comedian Michel Courtemanche, and also because of my love for 90s robot dance, I created my first public mime sketch at the age of 14. This directly led to countless public performances in and around my hometown Grossenhain, accompanied by years of further self-taught education.
In 2003, I eventually moved to Berlin to study mime professionally at a theatre school. Since then, I’ve been creating numerous acts and shows, performing in China, Colombia, Thailand, India, Qatar, Egypt, Russia, Iraq, Israel, Korea and all over Europe. My latest career highlights were invitations to successfully participate on famous TV shows Germany’s Got Talent (Das Supertalent) and Italia‘s Got Talent in 2019. At the same time, renowned variety theatre company GOP signed me for a long-term contract to be part of successful mixed circus show "Keine Halben Sachen", which will continue to tour across Germany in winter 2021.
Currently based near Vienna, I’m getting my solo show UNTOLD STORIES ready to premiere in 2022. I'm looking forward to continue this exciting journey, celebrating the magic of modern mime on small and big stages around the world, with my own creations, as a guest performer in national and international theatre, variety and circus productions, as physical actor in film and video, and as a dramaturgy, choreography and movement coach for other artists' works.
